Intel South Africa is situated in Woodmead, Johannesburg which is considered the gate way into the rest of Africa. Johannesburg sometimes known as Joburg is South Africa’s largest and growing city.
Intel South Africa is the sales and marketing office for South Africa, providing world-class sales and support to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), developer, Multinational companies (MNC) and end-user levels. As well as a strong corporate affairs department supporting activities around the greater META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa) vision that is all children of META should enjoy the same technology like the rest of the world.
The primary responsibilities for Intel's sales and marketing team in South Africa include:
Delivering innovative products to consumer and OEM markets, Driving Intel's initiatives, technologies, products and services into the marketplace. Creating demand for Intel's products in main stream retail, second tier retailers and enterprise server market, as well as driving the market to recognize Intel's role in the Internet at the OEM, developer, and end-user levels. As well as business development in the areas of world ahead which is divided into two main focus areas; that is ECS (Enterprise servers); focusing on creating demand amongst large corporates and promoting the latest Intel server technology. The second focus is on world ahead which has two focus areas telecommunication (Telco) which is mainly focused on home education; involving solution around home education. The education focus of World Ahead (WA) is focused on one on one education involves activities such as liaising with government Department of education, influencing on policy and other areas of concerns regarding the internet and broadband. Recently a new department EMPG (Emerging Markets Platform Group) has been added that will focus on assisting the eco-system partners rolling out of solution as intended. Another key focus of Intel South Africa office is the Corporate Affairs Group (CAG) activities that are aligned to the world wide Intel CAG activities. In South Africa CAG is aligned to the national priorities of the South African government mainly those that are in line with education, broadband and ICT infrastructure, digital literacy, women and girls development .This is done in conjunction with the other departments within Intel South Africa and eco-systems partners to further the development of ICT and broadband in South Africa leveraging off Intel Assets.
